2015 Innovation Summit

The Innovation Summit is the launch pad for breakthrough technologies from the Finalist Teams of the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge.

You will experience a competitive, yet intimate, environment where leading entrepreneurs, government officials, and scientists will join you in a collaborative, social forum to learn from each other and help guide the development of your 21st century technologies.

Each finalist team will present their product to the judges. In addition to your presentation, you will have opportunities to join innovative discussions about cutting edge topics in science and entrepreneurship.

The key to the Innovation Summit is to know that YOU are the stars. The great innovators attending are coming to connect with you. Make it what you want the Summit to be. Don't be afraid to ask someone to discuss whatever topics may be on your mind.

Summit Diplomats Logistical Information

Congratulations again to the teams selected as Summit Diplomats. As Diplomats you are amongst a select group that have the rare and valuable opportunity to attend the 2015 Spirit of Innovation Summit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. This year's Summit is sure to be our best ever. The location is second-to-none and the schedule is amazing. The three-day Summit will be jam packed with awesome speakers, a tour of NASA Kennedy Space Center, fun activities, entertainment and even a little free time to explore the Space Coast.

We also have a very special opportunity for two Diplomat teams to attend a once-in-a-lifetime event on Saturday, April 11 to be part of the Apollo 13 Anniversary Celebration and meet the astronauts and flight directors from that historic and hair-raising mission! All teams at the Summit will be eligible to win. We will hold a drawing during the luncheon on Friday, April 10. So, make sure you have a nice suit or dress in your suitcase so you'll be prepared to attend if your team is selected. Selected teams will be provided transportation to and from the event.

Air Travel Information

We recommend air travel into one of two airports. The easiest option is into Orlando International Airport (MCO) as they have numerous air carriers and flights available to offer you the best airfares and schedules. As a second option you can fly into Melbourne International Airport (MLB) but flight options are very limited via Delta Airlines and US Airways.

The Orlando airport  (MCO) is 43 miles from the Radisson at the Port and the Melbourne airport (MLB) is 26 miles.

Hotel Accommodations

We have secured a block of rooms at the Radisson Resort at the Port with a great discounted rate but you need to book your room(s) now! You must reserve your hotel room at the Radisson Resort no later than 5 p.m. EST, Friday, March 13 to receive the discounted rate of $125 per night per room (2 queen beds) and the rate of $9.95 per person/per day for breakfast (optional).  If you fail to register by March 13, the room rate will increase to $189 per night and breakfast goes up to $13.95 per day.

We are working to secure a contract to provide shuttle service from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the hotel on Wednesday, April 8 and returning to MCO on Sunday, April 12. We anticipate 2 or more scheduled pick-up times available at no cost to our Diplomat Teams.

Should you chose to fly into the Melbourne International Airport you can access immediate taxi service or rental cars at your own expense.

During your Stay

Once you are at the hotel, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC) will provide buses to and from the Summit events. We will provide a detailed schedule of morning pickup and afternoon or evening return times in the coming weeks as we finalize the schedule.

If you don't have a car during your stay, it's OK. During your free time, you can catch The Cocoa Beach Trolley to dine at Grill's, Squid Lips or other casual restaurants at the Port. You may even see a cruise ship leaving or returning. Or if you're into shopping, you won't want to miss the world famous Ron Jon's and the Cocoa Beach Surf Shop. The trolley runs from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Port Canaveral to 13th Street South in Cocoa Beach. A ride on the trolley costs .60 cents each way. Or is you prefer a taxi that's easy too. Cocoa Beach Taxi.
