CALLING ALL JUDGES:
SPACE FOR THE BENEFIT OF EARTH CHALLENGE

The Conrad Challenge has partnered with Blue Origin's foundation, Club for the Future to host the Space for the Benefit of Earth Challenge, asking students: “How would you tap into the limitless resources of space for the benefit of Earth?”

Working in a “Mission Crew” of 2-5 students (ages 13-18) students will brainstorm innovative solutions that leverage space resources to tackle challenges such as climate change, food/energy insecurity, and environmental degradation. Each submission from the Mission Crew illustrates four key pillars – innovation, critical design thinking, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Crews must submit a Mission Briefing (600 words total) and Video Log (5 minutes long) that directly addresses one or more of these challenges, with the potential to be implemented within 10 years.

We are seeking accomplished individuals to serve as online judges March 21 - 29, 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review assigned Mission Crew submissions, provide comments/feedback and score prior to the judging deadline, March 29 by 11:59 p.m. ET.

  • Judging occurs entirely online with our user-friendly platform that allows you to review and save work along the way!

  • Each judge will be assigned 3-5 Mission Crews, which we estimate will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete.

  • All judges will receive clear instructions on how to provide thoughtful, constructive and age-appropriate feedback for each submission.

  • All judges must agree to confidentiality terms that protect students’ intellectual property.
